Let’s Go Golfing Again

This Charity golf tournament benefits the homeless, less fortunate, women in crisis, and children

St. Mary of the Lakes Knights of Columbus Council 6520 ) is hosting our 11th annual "Chip in for Charity” golf tournament on Monday, June 11, 2018 at Medford Lakes Country Club (70 Oak Drive, Medford Lakes, NJ 08055). All proceeds benefit Medford’s Society of St. Vincent de Paul, the Interfaith Hospitality Network of Burlington County, and 1st Way of Burlington County.

“The Society of St. Vincent de Paul, the Interfaith Hospitality Network, and 1st Way provide critical services like food, shelter, clothing, financial assistance, and counseling to the needy in our area,” said Council 6520 Grand Knight George Finan III. “The Knights of Columbus invite men and women golfers and local business owners to ‘chip in for charity’ to support these vital organizations that treat every man, woman, and child with respect, dignity, and kindness.”

Golf registration is $150.00, after April 1st $160.00 and includes greens fee, golf cart, lunch, hors d'oeuvres, and a dinner. The tournament is a scramble format and begins with a shotgun start at 12:00 p.m. A cocktail hour follows the tournament and dinner begins at 6:00 p.m. A silent auction, raffle, and tombola offer opportunities to win great prizes. The Society of St. Vincent de Paul is a Catholic lay organization that allows women and men to join together to grow spiritually by offering person to person service to those who are needy and suffering.

Services are provided in the tradition of its founder, Blessed Fréderic Ozanam and patron, St. Vincent DePaul. The organization is united in an international society of charity with their respect for poverty, humility and sharing.

Organized locally, Vincentians witness God’s love by embracing all works of charity and justice. The Society works with all people in relieving need and addressing its causes; making no distinction in those served based on faith because, in them, Vincentians always seek to find the face of Christ in all served. 

The Interfaith Hospitality Network of Burlington County is a non-profit interfaith organization committed to a united outreach by the religious community in Burlington county providing shelter, meals and assistance to homeless families. The program provides help, hope and a safe haven for our guests while they seek affordable housing.

The program mobilizes existing community resources; church buildings for overnight lodging, congregations for volunteers and social service agencies for screening and referrals.

Since 1998 IHN hosted 384 families totaling 1271 individuals with 768 of that number being children. 

1st Way of Burlington County Burlington County helps any woman or girl with an unplanned pregnancy find medical, legal, or psychological help as well as shelter, education, or adoption guidance. 1st Way believes in the sanctity of life, all life, the life of the mother as well as the life of the baby. 1st Way provides free resources which support life affirming choices. This is accomplished through a loving, non-judgement approach with peer counseling, education, and practical services.

Knight of Columbus 6th Annual Charity Golf Tournament Check Presentatiuon    

K of C present check to IHN from Golf Outing Proceeds

On Monday, June 17th, the Knights of Columbus St. Mary of the Lakes council 6520 hosted their sixth annual charity golf tournament where the proceeds went to IHN and St. Vincent dePaul Society.  A check from the golf outing proceeds was presented to Peggy Singer, the Board President of IHN of Burlington County by the Knights of Columbus Grand Knight, John Kennealy.
