This Charity golf tournament benefits the homeless, less fortunate, women in crisis, and children

St. Mary of the Lakes Knights of Columbus Council 6520 ) is hosting its 10th annual charity golf tournament on Monday, June 12, 2017 at Medford Lakes Country Club (70 Oak Drive, Medford Lakes, NJ 08055). All proceeds benefit Medford’s Society of St. Vincent de Paul, the Interfaith Hospitality Network of Burlington County, and 1st Way of Burlington County.

“The Society of St. Vincent de Paul, the Interfaith Hospitality Network, and 1st Way provide critical services like food, shelter, clothing, financial assistance, and counseling to the needy in our area,” said Council 6520 Grand Knight George Finan III. “The Knights of Columbus invite men and women golfers and local business owners to ‘chip in for charity’ to support these vital organizations that treat every man, woman, and child with respect, dignity, and kindness.”

Golf registration is $150.00 and includes greens fee, golf cart, lunch, hors d'oeuvres, and a dinner. The tournament is a scramble format and begins with a shotgun start at 12:00 p.m. A cocktail hour follows the tournament and dinner begins at 6:00 p.m. A silent auction, raffle, and tombola offer opportunities to win great prizes. Dinner-only tickets are also available for $45.00.

Tax-deductible sponsorship opportunities are available for businesses and individuals. Options range from several sponsorship levels to merchandise and gift certificate donations to individual boosters.

The Society of St. Vincent de Paul is a Catholic lay organization that allows women and men to join together to grow spiritually by offering person to person service to those who are needy and suffering. Over the past year, the St. Mary of the Lakes Conference of Society of St. Vincent de Paul has helped 14,329 men, women, and children with food, clothing, financial help for rent and mortgage, auto insurance, utilities, health care and other expenses valued at more than $470,000.

The Interfaith Hospitality Network of Burlington County receives more than 300 unduplicated calls each year from families seeking shelter. IHNBC is a non-profit interfaith organization committed to a united outreach by the religious community in Burlington County providing shelter, meals, and assistance to homeless families. The program provides help, hope, and a safe haven for our guests while they seek affordable housing.

1st Way of Burlington County Burlington County helps any woman or girl with an unplanned pregnancy find medical, legal, or psychological help as well as shelter, education, or adoption guidance. 1st Way believes in the sanctity of life, all life, the life of the mother as well as the life of the baby. 1st Way provides free resources which support life affirming choices. This is accomplished through a loving, non-judgement approach with peer counseling, education, and practical services.

On Monday, June 17th, the Knights of Columbus St. Mary of the Lakes council 6520 hosted their sixth annual charity golf tournament where the proceeds went to IHN and St. Vincent dePaul Society.  A check from the golf outing proceeds was presented to Peggy Singer, the Board President of IHN of Burlington County by the Knights of Columbus Grand Knight, John Kennealy.
